I’m sitting here watching the Super Bowl, and already the Seahawks are taking the lead.

Of course, doing what I do, I couldn’t help wondering how the team prepares for such a big game.

Physically, there’s all the practice and agility drills. But what about mentally? What do these big guys do?

Well, you might be surprised to learn that it’s meditation: A way to self-regulate and relax the mind and increase alpha and theta brainwaves. Meditation helps dial down cortisol levels (the stress hormone), reducing anxiety and increasing focus. It also helps in coping with pain.

And one more thing: it pumps up resilience. Not sure if Denver has a chance!
