30-Second Cure for Anxiety

cleaning out an office drawer: mindless activities to reduce stress

So—you’re in the midst of a crazy day, and your anxiety’s beginning to go on overdrive. Your heart’s racing, your stomach’s churning, and you’re getting that awful creepy feeling up the back of your neck.

Stop. Step away. Do something mindless. Yes—mindless.

Clean out a small drawer. Organize your desk. Get up and take a short walk. File your nails. Water your plants. Whatever it takes to distract you, where you don’t have to think.

Don’t go on Facebook—we’re talking 30 seconds here—you know how lost you can get there. Plus, getting away from technology is important. We’re already bombarded with too much information every single day.

Calming your mind by doing something mindless is often one of the best things you can do.

Try it and see.
