Driving Inspiration

There are many times throughout your career when you can lose your motivation. Your creativity slows to a crawl and you feel lackluster and uninspired.

I know–I’ve been there.  I’ve found myself starring at a blank screen, wondering what to write next.

And then I realized that I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel, and neither do you. Inspiration is all around us. All we have to do is open our eyes and minds to tap into a wealth of ideas and creations already in existence.

And we are not alone in this.

During a recent visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the exhibit China Through the Looking Glass, the influence of Chinese culture on western fashion was beautifully obvious. One example is this jacket designed by Ralph Lauren, accompanied by an amazing embroidered silk that served as inspiration:

Driving inspiration

Funny how one inspiration can inspire another, as it did with this jacket and my blog post.

No reinventing the wheel. Just driving inspiration.

What or who inspires you?
