Swim to the shallow end!
Allow me to explain.
The other night, I was watching Fashionably Late with Rachel Zoe.
As many of you probably know, Zoe is a top fashion stylist, who also starred in her own reality TV series.
As I watched this new show, her segment entitled, “What were you thinking?” rang true about Zoe’s role as a talk show host (she’s pretty bad) and about me in my decision to watch it!
And, then it struck me: So what if she’s ridiculous?? It’s what I need right now.
Life for me has been very deep lately, between a death in the family and a cancer diagnosis.
Zoe is able to laugh at herself, so why not join in the fun?? Why not get shallow?
We all need breaks (and distractions) like these to stay sane. To get out of the deep end of life for while.
To tread lightly elsewhere.
To do something fun, like having drinks with friends; reading a humorous book; shopping; or watching silly shows.
To get shallow!
Often, these are the best ways to keep our heads above water!
