30-Second Cure for Anxiety: Thoughts, Only Thoughts!

Someone once said to me “With our thoughts, we make our lives.”

It was probably my therapist.

But, whoever said it was on to something!

Negative thoughts can make us feel sad, bad, mad, and well—quite anxious.

And, trust me—as my husband battles cancer, I’ve had a million negative thoughts. Some of them are just off the charts!

So, here’s what I’ve decided to do to shoo them away. I just say:

“You are thoughts, only thoughts, and I can change you any time I want. And I’ve decided that if you’re not here to help me, then, get lost!”

It’s that easy (although it takes a little getting used to).

For me, it reminds me that we do have control over our thoughts, and, for me, this one little thought has already turned something negative into something positive.
