I recently asked the chief of Integrated Medicine at Sloan Kettering “What’s the one thing a cancer patient should avoid at all costs?”
His answer was swift and definitive: “Stress. Stress helps cancer spread.”
Keep this in mind when helping someone with cancer: Listen to them. Love them. Offer to do what you can for them. Heeeeear what they are saying. Make their lives easier.
Stop stressing them.
This may not cure cancer, but it’s one way to stop spreading it (and much, muuuuch more effective than any Facebook prayer or platitude).
