As many of my readers know, I haven’t been able to update my blog recently as often as I’d like.
Life got a bit crazy for me last year, when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Then, my beloved mother-in-law passed away. And now, my mom is struggling to get rehabilitated due to crippling arthritis and a lung infection.
To say it’s been overwhelming is an understatement, but I’ve learned a few things. One of them is this: Your personal network is just as important—if not more so—as your professional one.
I cannot tell you how much guidance and support I’ve received, and how my network has grown! Friends—new and old—and family have reached out to run errands, do research, give expert advice, and provide fun distractions and much needed encouragement.
So—the next time you shun networking, think again. Build those relationships! Because you never know what you will need: in business, and in life!
